Your information and the Study Buddy

This page explains in plain English what information the Study Buddy uses and why. It should be reviewed by First Rate Tutors before the service is promoted to a wider student audience.

Information used by the service

  • Account information such as your email address and sign-in provider.
  • Your display name, selected avatar and target GCSE grade.
  • Video position, lesson completion and quiz results.
  • Questions and responses saved in each lesson's AI Tutor chat.

Why it is used

The information is used to provide your account, remember your learning progress, deliver lesson support, operate quizzes, secure the service and diagnose technical faults.

Service providers

The product currently relies on Supabase for accounts and application data, Google Cloud for hosting and video delivery, DeepSeek for AI Tutor responses, Sentry for privacy-conscious error monitoring, Meta for optional marketing measurement, and Google Analytics for optional website measurement where you give consent.

Optional measurement cookies

If you accept optional cookies, Meta Pixel and Google Analytics may measure visits to help First Rate Tutors understand website use and advertising performance. They are not loaded until you choose Accept. You can decline without affecting core website or learning features.

Your choices

  • You can clear the saved AI chat for an individual lesson.
  • You can change profile details from Settings.
  • You can request account deletion from Settings.
  • Do not place private, sensitive or identifying information in AI Tutor messages.
